This week our 5th Grade Black Boys Jags team won the Hoop Battle Tournament beating the Bensalem Chargers 33-24 in the championship game. The boys played the whole tournament short players and after losing their first game 46-39 to the East Coast Power, won the next 4 games. Last week our 5th Grade Boys team lost in the finals in the 6th grade B division in the Renegades Tournament. Winning three games against 6th grade teams before losing.

This is the 6th Tournament Championship for our 5th Grade Boys team this season!

Jaguars 5th Grade Boys just won their 5th consecutive Tournament this season

Jaguars 5th Grade Boys win the Mid-Atlantic Elite Classic fresh off last weekend’s Tournament Championship where Coach Keith Mondillo's team beat a team from Syracuse for the Championship in the Battle of Valley Forge.

In the 1st Game this past weekend beating Central PA 49-13. In the 2nd game vs Renegades winning 59-26. In the 3rd game beating Wall to Wall 57-22. Finally in the Championship game they won 42-15 vs the LV Wildcats. That’s great defense!

This is the 5th Tournament Championship for the 5th Grade Boys Team having won every tournament they have competed in so far this year. Starting with winning the King of the Hill in Mid- March, then winning the ECP Kick Off, Phoenixville Fundraiser Tournament, Battle at Valley Forge and most recently the Mid-Atlantic Elite Classic.

Congratulations to our 5th Grade team for this amazing accomplishment.  Danny Curran, Nick Flores, Alex Hermann, Preston Hull, Tyler Kenney, Max Lebisky, Chase Mondillo, Avery Salvi,  Kevin Town , Caleb Zavertnik, Head Coach Keith Mondillo, assistant coach Mike Hermann and assistant coach Mark Flores. And thank you to all the players and coaches for representing our Jaguars organization so well.

Coach Keith Mondillo, who also is the Director of Athletics and Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Gwynedd Mercy University, stated "all our boys played well and contributed. They played great team defense this weekend."

Coach Mondillo's Gwynedd Mercy University Women's Team captured the 2016-2017 Colonial States Athletic Conference Championship in February of this year then went on to compete in the Division III NCAA Tournament. During the season for Gwynedd Mercy they held teams to just 33% shooting from the field. It looks like the defensive mindset has continued into the AAU season for our 5th Grade Boys.
