2017 Champions of Athletes for a Better Education (AFBE)-Exeter Tournament

Kevin Kovaleski -- Head Coach (6th GRADE BLACK TEAM)

Kevin Kovaleski is currently the Head Coach of the Jaguars 6th Grade Boys Black Team.  Kevin has previously coached Travel, Rec and AAU basketball for the past 11 seasons with Spring-Ford Youth Basketball (SFYB) and the Royersford Rockets.  Additionally Kevin has been previously held several leadership positions on the SFYB Board, including league President (2010-15).

This will be Kevin’s 2nd season coaching with the Jags, and he looks forward to building upon the success that the team had in 2016.  In his initial season coaching the Jags, Kevin led his team to 3 tournament championships and 2 runner-up finishes in the 7 tournaments in which the team competed.  Whenever he’s not coaching basketball, Kevin serves as Senior Director and Lead for Transplant Medicine Strategy Development at CSL Behring in King of Prussia.  He his wife, Julie, reside in Collegeville with their 4 boys.

Jaguars Boys 6th Grade Black team wins AFBE Tournament

Jaguars Boys 6th Grade wins the AFBE Tournament Championship

The Collegeville Jaguars Boys 6th Grade Black team got their first tournament championship of the 2017 season last weekend. The Jags won all 4 games by more than 20 points to claim the Athletes for a Better Education (AFBE)-Exeter tournament title. The team was led in scoring by Tomas Torres (10 ppg) and Ty Mishock (6.8 ppg).  The team also has standout defensive efforts from Luke Hansen, Michael McKenna and Ryan Kovaleski. 

During their first tournament of the season, the Jags lost in the semi-finals of the Hardwood Battle at Vally Forge. The team looks forward to carrying the momentum of the AFBE win with them when they compete next weekend in the Under-Armor Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship
